He/She should be able to create a broad range of baked goods from gourmet cookies to cakes. The ideal candidate for this role understands the subtle ways that different flavors work together and has an appreciation for artistic presentation. Manage all day-to-day operations of the kitchen Supervise and coordinate all pastry and dessert preparation and presentation Keep track of kitchen inventory and wastage. Determine the order amount for each ingredient for an up-to-date supply. Experiment with new and seasonal flavors to add/replace the items in the menu, keeping up with the current trends. Help recruit and train new and existing personnel Guide and motivate pastry assistants and bakers to work more efficiently
